Hello and welcome to my sketch to bride service and some little extras!! I am going to tell you how my sketch to bride service works and who it works best for!
We start off with a consultation in my studio where I will go through the collections. My yearly collections are done on paper supported with fabric swatches. This is to reduce the use of raw material, fabric especially!
First thing that brides might say:
“How do I know if this style will suit me?” “What if I don’t like it once it is finished?”
As I purely work with bespoke creations, I do have a small collection on show with different skirt styles, different sleeves, and different fabric samples so at the consultation we also go through the samples I have on display and play around with the dresses.
The consultation lasts anything from an hour to an hour and a half. We talk, we communicate, we discuss what we like and don’t like, we talk about the fabrics, the overall look and then I will produce three rough sketches of the dresses and you get to choose your favourite. At times, brides already have an idea in their head but they are finding it difficult to find their perfect dress or fit, something might be slightly wrong with all the dresses they tried on in the boutique. So I am here to solve that problem and create their dream dress.
To help brides with those questions I mentioned earlier in the post, is that I always say it will be fine, trust me! I reassure brides, anything can be changed at the first fitting because I make a mock piece out of the lining of the dress. At this point we try the mock design on, and we do any alterations before we actually make the dress. Brides do have to be open with me and if they have any niggling concerns about the style, they must tell me, so we can make adjustments. We can do other slight alterations as we go along but it is best to get the first stage sorted before the rest begins.
GET IN TOUCH
Here are some examples of sketches to brides, take a look!
The last one was my Royal Dress from my collection. The beautiful Amy wore it on her wedding day and then contacted me for the keepsake painting. She emailed me her favourite pictures and then I turned it into one of my paintings for her to keep forever!
If you can’t find your exact dress, please contact me as I am sure I will be able to help. A bespoke dress is also kinder to the planet as I don’t mass produce!!
Best wishes,
